Eierne til Villa Voraa ønsket å gi huset nytt liv som familiebolig etter at det hadde forfalt gjennom flere år. Samtidig ville de at de arkitektoniske rammene skulle bevares.

Villaen er et fremragende eksempel på skandinavisk tektonisk arkitektur, en retning som legger vekt på å vise fram der synlige konstruksjonen og materialene som inngår i den.  Under ombyggingen har eierne tatt utgangspunkt i det eksisterende huset.  Tilpasningene bygger på analogi med fortiden, der nye elementer henter inspirasjon fra det gamle for å skape en subtil distinksjon mellom gammelt og nytt.

Villaen har dermed fått beholde sin originale integritet og verdighet.

Villa Voraa
The owners of Villa Voraa wantd to give the house a new life as a family home after several years of disuse and negligence.  Simultaneously it was also important to conserve the architectural framework of the house.

The villa is an outstanding example of Scandinavian tectonic architecture, a concept which emphasizes visible construction and materials.  Renovation is based on the existing architecture, with adaptation built on an analogy with the past, in which new elements are inspired by the original in order to create a subtle distinction between the old and the new. The villa is thus still characterized by integrity and dignity in relation to the original architecture.
